Miya

Miya moved from South Dakota to Georgia at the age of 10. At a young age, Miya loved to be outside all day playing in the woods and exploring the wildlife. As a young child, Miya grew up with a pitbull only household, but through her family and friends, she soon loved every animal and insect she met.

In her young career, she started walking and grooming dogs to working at an all animal boarding facility and daycare. This environment taught her how to read a pet’s body language and cues to understand animal behavior. She quickly moved up and became a veterinary assistant, helping the doctor’s and technicians in their daily tasks. She soon fell in love with the work she was doing and became a veterinary technician.

Even though Miya loved her job, her and her partner Hayden dreamed of moving to Colorado. Once graduating from college, they finally made the trip from lakes to mountains and are never looking back.

Miya found the Willits vet team to be the perfect fit and is thriving with the help from her new team.

For the past 5 years of being a technician, Miya is still loving everything about her job. Most importantly, seeing each and every animal healthy knowing her and the team give their all into what they do.

In her free time, you will find Miya, Hayden , and their spunky cat Jasmine on yet another adventure exploring what Colorado has to offer.
